Looking at these specimens, it is understandable that the mineral was given this name due to its resemblance to the leaves of the mallow plant. These natural, multi-coloured green malachite eggs originate from Congo. They measure between 3 to 4 cm in diameter and were handcrafted from natural malachite that was mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo (Zaïre).
